Anibar14: Animated Feature Film Competition

The 14th edition of the Anibar Film Festival proudly presents four feature films to be showcased in this year’s Feature Film Competition, representing animators and production teams from around the world. Beginning on Tuesday July 18th, make sure you’re tuned in each evening to experience these amazing films and the wildly different adventures, lessons, and demonstrations of love they express.

This Tuesday at 4:00pm, don’t miss “Silver Bird and Rainbow Fish,” written by and directed by Lei Lei from the United States. In the 1950s, witness the journey of 4-year old Jiaqi after his mother passes away, and later his father is called away to the countryside for work. Fast forward to present day, artist-filmmaker Lei Lei and his family attempt to revisit the past.

Next up, on Wednesday the 19th at 4:00pm we have an incredible feature film from Hungary titled, “Four Souls of Coyote.” Directed by Aron Gauder, a brave group of present-day Native American teenagers find themselves up against an invasive foe that threatens their home, their identity, and even the memory of past generations.

Thursday’s mid-day audience is in for a special treat, as we show “Titina,” a Norwegian-made film of adventure directed by Kajsa Naess.

One day, Italian airship engineer, Umberto Bobule, and his adventure companion, a beloved dog named Titina, are asked to take on the expedition of a lifetime: the conquest of The North Pole.

Last but not least, to wrap up Anibar’s week of fun and excitement, we will be a mid-day showing of “My love affair with marriage.” In this film directed by Signe Baumane, a girl named Zelma begins to discover that her own definition of love doesn’t quite match the definition taught to her by society, and so she strikes out on a journey to embrace her own inner rebellion.

While these four films are wildly different from each other, each one  shows the heart and soul and LOVE that was poured into them by the artistic teams responsible for their creation. Trust us… these aren’t features you want to miss!
