Tales of Isolation

Interviews with Anibar visitors about their experience with isolation. Part 4

In today’s “Tales of Isolation” interview, we talked to Emine Vala, a 41-year-old woman visiting from Prishtina.

When asked to interpret isolation in her own words, she said it was an unwanted experience that separates you from the important things in your life, and the people closest to your heart.

“Dealing with work problems was especially difficult when I didn’t have my dearest people close to me.”

However, she said that isolation in context gives the opportunity to truly pick out the most important factors in life and the possibility to focus more on them.

“It’s like being in an island where you are far from everything so all you can do is reflect on your life.”
