“Humans and heroes of our time”

Online workshops are serving as a way to distract the children from the pandemic and the closing of schools

During the online workshop of Animation in Anibar for the little ones of the festival, more precisely the workshop “Humans and heroes of our time”, we had the pleasure to interview one of the parents of the children participating, Mrs. Nora Taraku. Anibar was curious to get an impression about the effort of the children from the parents’ viewpoint, their support during the workshop, its impact on the children, and also the influence of the online format in the process of learning.

How would you describe the work of your children in during the workshop?

I am deeply satisfied with the work that my daughters are doing in the workshop of the 11th edition of the Anibar Festival. Since we are going through a pandemic for quite a long time now, the schools got closed. As a result, everything has transitioned into a virtual format and the organisation of these workshops has been truly welcomed. The children have been more active and it has served as a way to distract them from the monotonous situation that has been caused. It has also been brought to my attention that my daughters are very excited about the workshop and are thrilled to be part of this edition.

Would you register your children again for these kinds of workshops?

Yes, absolutely. These kinds of workshops enables children to learn more about animation and different techniques. Since they do not learn these kind of things in school, I think they are essential in the development of creativity in children, and I believe that it is helpful for them to find a certain path and find out what they want to become in the future.

How do you think Anibar managed the transition into online platform for this workshop?

I believe that the online format of the workshop is developing wonderfully. This is new even for us, but everything is organized well and the children do not seem to have any issue logging into the ZOOM platform and following the lectures, while also being able to finish their duties and make an effort for this workshop.

Did this workshop awake your children’s interest and curiousity to continue animating?

The children are very curious. Even after the workshop and lectures end, they continue to work on the animations, which shows that they are enjoying the animation process.
