Everything You Need to Know About the Masterclasses

The 13th edition of Anibar will feature an array of unique masterclasses that will help you further your development professionally and personally.

There are three masterclasses available for animators to expand their skills, and each one focuses on a different aspect of animation. Below is a list of the different masterclasses:

Masterclass: The Practical Side of Making a Short Film

Tutor: Balint Gelley

Dates: 13-14 July

Location: Music School, Pejë

Time: 16:00-18:00

Balint is an animated film director, but since he started CUB Animation with Bella Szederkényi, he has also been working as a producer. As a result, he must balance both the creative and the down-to-earth aspects of animation. This masterclass will be about the latter. It will be a brief rundown on how to get your idea to the screen, from start to finish. In this workshop, we will talk about the pipeline, budget, financing, scheduling, and co-production possibilities with Hungary in making a short film.

The tutor Balint Gelley graduated from the animation department of MOME in 2012. He founded CUB Animation Studio with Bella Szederkényi in 2015. He is a founding and board member of the Hungarian Animation Producers Association. He works as a director, producer, and teacher at MOME.

The masterclass will be held for two days on the 13th and 14th of July.

The masterclasses are organized within the project ‘Spreading culture from the Visegrad countries to the Western Balkans‘ supported by the Visegrad Fund. The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

There are some questions that must be raised when you are building a world, an atmosphere, and a space for your story in order to take your audience by the hand and lead them through the forest.
