During these pandemic times, ANIBAR comes in the virtual format

On Monday, the international festival of animated films & animation “Anibar”, commenced their 11th edition with films, presentations, panel discussions,  workshops, and masterclasses. In the face of the pandemic, the festival has been organized in a way that everything will be transmitted virtually.

This year’s edition of the festival comes in a different format. As a result of the pandemic, this year Anibar will be held in a virtual format, where the artistic program will be available through the digital platform. The theme of this edition is “Humans”. Through films, presentations, and panels which will be broadcasted throughout the week, the main focus will be on the collective humanitarian effort, which has been highlighted even more because of the situation caused by COVID- 19. 

The opening ceremony begins with some views of the city of Peja, which has hosted the festival for 10 years now. Furthermore,  it continues with a view of the people who made it possible for this edition to happen, regardless of the fact that this year’s edition comes in a  completely different form than previous years. What’s more, the festival has continued its tradition of painting a mural with the festival’s logo & annual theme.

This edition is mainly focused on the hard work of all those who served and are still serving in the first line of duty like doctors, nurses, pharmacists, electricians, salespeople, bakers, and so on. Furthermore, another objective of this edition is to reveal and encourage the rethinking of what truly makes us human.

The artistic program includes films in competition, films about human rights, panels, and public performances, masterclasses, presentations, and feature-length animated films. 

The International Festival of Animated Films and Animations will be held from the 17th until the 23rd of August. During these days, 139 selected films will be shown, which you can choose to see on the platform online.anibar.org
