Bring Your Kid to the Young Audience Program!

The world of children through animation.

What would be an Animation festival, without the films that every kid loves? From cartoons to anime, to long sagas, no kid complains about a good animation to watch. Well, if we look back, Anibar started as a festival created by courageous young boys and girls of Peja, who just wanted to watch animated movies together with their families and fellow citizen, and if this isn’t love, what could it be?

Here we are, 14 years later, continuing this tradition, and inviting parents and kids, to come and sit, and watch animated movies, at the Young Audience Program, which will be screened starting on Tuesday, July 18th, from 10 a.m. at Cinema “Jusuf Gervalla” in Peja.

In this year’s edition, the Young Audience Program offers a variety of films created by young people for young people, and divided into six specific programs. Five of which are curated for kids up to 5 years old, and one for kids over 13.

Vita Kasapolli, the program curator of Anibar, who curated this specific program, states that the Young Audience Program aims to introduce the younger audience, kids, to different styles of animation, that are rarely presented in mainstream media.

“Through this specific program, which includes all six underlined programs, we aim to inspire their creativity and show them that there are different ways to express oneself through animation.”, Kasapolli says.

She also adds that through this program, young animators reflect through animation on different topics that affect children’s perspectives and their world.

“For instance, fear of the dentist, love for siblings, desire to play in the neighborhood, friendship with animals, or even the imagination of being a mystical creature like a fairy or a witch”, Kasapolli explains. According to her, the goal is to show children that they are being seen, understood and that their thoughts have a place in the world of adults.

In total, 30 movies will be screened at the Young Audience Program this year, and we can more than proudly announce that the first movie to be screened will be “Roots”, created by our student from the Animation Academy of Anibar, Finesa Peja.
