“Pitch It!” at Anibar: Western Balkans Pitching Platform

Present your project at Anibar Festival!

This year, our Pitching Competition returns, inviting emerging and seasoned animators from Kosovo and beyond to share their ideas and contribute to the future of animation.

What is “Pitch It!”?

“Pitch It!” is a high-impact event where animation creators present their project ideas to a panel of judges, mentors, and fellow enthusiasts. It’s not just about competition, it’s about learning, connecting, and tentatively birthing the next wave of animated stories.

Who can apply?

  • Passionate newcomers from the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia) ready to elevate their first animated ideas
  • Experienced professionals seeking to refine and expand their storytelling
  • Any style or genre: traditional, 3D, educational, experimental—all are welcome

Here’s what we need

Via our form, applicants should give us their creative essence:

  • A logline that sparkles
  • A concise synopsis
  • A heartfelt director’s statement revealing your why
  • Visual references illustrating your style
  • Optional teasers, storyboards, or trailers
  • A sketch of your timeline and budget
  • Your bio/filmography and a smile (photo)

And ensure you submit the following details separately via the Anibar WeTransfer link: https://anibar.wetransfer.com.

These elements allow the jury to see both your vision and your passion.

What happens after you pitch?

  1. First, each project is pre-screened for clarity and completeness.
  2. If selected, you’ll be invited to pitch live at Anibar, opening your animation’s next chapter.
  3. A jury with indie and international expertise will evaluate, and the top three will receive awards and mentoring to help them grow.

Awards & Support

  • Pitch It! offers monetary support for pre-production, to help you take your idea from concept to a solid foundation. These awards are meant to back the early stages; scriptwriting, visual development, world-building—those quiet hours when a story begins to breathe.
  • Winners will also benefit from visibility, feedback, and the support of a creative community rooting for their success.

📍 Practical Notes – What You Should Know

Before you roll up your sleeves and hit submit, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The event will take place during Anibar Festival, from July 14–20, 2025, in Peja, Kosovo.
  • If selected, you’ll be part of our Work In Progress Presentation, where you’ll pitch your project to an audience and jury.
  • We’ve got your back; accreditation, travel, and accommodation are covered for one representative per project.

Why you should apply

At its heart, Pitch It! addresses a core insight: creative minds breathe better when they’re seen, supported, and encouraged. Early authentic ideas find momentum, community, and funding.

Anibar’s recent history shows the power of creative incubation. Just last year, Pitch It! awarded project-support packages and software licences, enabling animated concepts to grow. With each edition, voices grow clearer and storytelling more confident.

We bet you have a story, come share it with us.
