Day Six of Anibar 2024: Final activities and visits from country leaders

The International Animated Film Festival, Anibar 2024, successfully concluded its sixth day on Saturday, filled with a wealth of enriching activities. The day began with the completion of the last three workshops, adding a special touch to the festival.

At BoneVet Peja, the workshop “Comic Fanzine” with Marko Djeska ran from 10:00 to 15:00, where participants created various comic fanzines, utilizing their maximum creativity. Simultaneously, the “Paper Cut Music Video” workshop with Djellza Bullaku successfully concluded, showcasing paper cut animation techniques for music videos. The “Hands Hands – An Advanced Puppet Making and Stop-Motion Workshop” with Thomas Volda, which lasted from 10:00 to 16:00, ended with participants crafting puppets and producing animations using stop-motion techniques.

During the day, the festival was honored with a visit from the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, who met with organizers and participants, showing their support for art and culture.

At Jusuf Gërvalla Cinema, the Young Audience Competition 5 continued from 10:00 to 11:00, featuring animations “Chasing Horrifox” and “Mog’s Christmas.” The VR program at the Art Gallery was open to the public from 10:00 to 18:00.

At Exit Bar, from 10:30 to 11:30, the session “Coffee and Talks: Meet the Filmmakers” provided an excellent opportunity for participants to interact with filmmakers. At Jusuf Gërvalla Cinema, from 12:00 to 14:00, the Pitching Competition took place, where young animators presented their ideas.

In the afternoon, from 14:00 to 16:00, films from Panorama Out of Competition 2 were screened at Jusuf Gërvalla Cinema, including “Circle,” “La Perra,” “Matta and Matto,” and “Flatastic.” From 16:00 to 17:00, Mike Holingsworth’s presentation “From animation festivals to Hollywood AND THEN BACK TO FESTIVALS!” attracted a wide audience.

At the Art Gallery, from 17:00 to 18:00, the panel discussion “Animation: What It Was, What It Is, and What It Will Be” offered interesting perspectives on the future development of animation.

From 18:00 to 19:00, festival guests gathered for a networking event in collaboration with the Kosovo Cinematography Center, enjoying an open buffet.

In the evening, activities continued at Lake Cinema with the Animated Music Video Competition 1, featuring a series of animated music videos. At the City Center – Hotel Korza, from 21:30 to 21:50, Jules Camille Huvig presented a final video mapping show.

The day concluded with an after-party at Lake Cinema from 23:00 to 02:00, with performances by the renowned Pejan rapper SINGI, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees.

Anibar 2024 continues to provide unforgettable moments for animation enthusiasts, blending creativity, education, and entertainment in a unique international platform.
