Anibar 2024: Socio-Economic Research Highlights Festival’s Positive Impact on Peja

Anibar, the annual animation festival held in Peja, has conducted a socio-economic study with IDRA Consulting, on its 15th edition, which took place in July 2024. The research highlights the festival’s positive impact on the local economy by supporting businesses, tourism, and the animation community.

The research was conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, analyzing consumer spending patterns. It includes data collected from a survey of 200 visitors, as well as information provided by the Tax Administration of Kosovo.

As an international festival, Anibar brings together artists from around the world, animation enthusiasts, and the broader Peja community. It helps transform the city into a more attractive destination for both local and international visitors while enriching Kosovo’s cultural landscape.

Findings show that festival attendees not only enjoyed Anibar’s diverse program but also contributed directly to Peja’s economy through accommodations, gastronomy, and other local services.

For Anibar, this report serves as evidence of how art can drive further development—both in animation and in Peja’s economy. Cultural events like Anibar not only create spaces for creativity and collaboration but also make new opportunities for businesses and the community.

Anibar Festival has been, and will continue to be, a meeting point for fresh ideas, collaboration, and creativity, building an open and welcoming space in Peja every summer. The festival features animated film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and various educational and creative activities.
