Papaya Tropical

Papaya Tropical, an unlikely encounter that gives birth to a new reference of indigenous futurism in Europe.
The encounter of the creative forces, Jehisson Santacruz and El Speaker, gave birth to this new reference of FUTURE INDIGENOUS music, where an urban world meets indigenous and ritual Colombian music, symbolized by its most emblematic and traditional instrument : « The Gaita », wax headed flute unique in the world.
Jehisson Santacruz, maestro gaitero, Colombian, philosopher, author, master in transdisciplinary arts, defender of human rights and promoter of rehabilitation projects to war victims of diverses indigenous and rural Colombian communities, exposes his poetry and work to Samuel Aardenburg, most known under the name of El Speaker, author, composer and producer of electronic music, Colombian, Dutch living in Paris, known for his track « Never Gonna Catch Me » signed in 2016 to Tribal Trap, counting many millions of streams across all platforms and ever since supported by famous producers such as Jillionaire (Major Lazer), Dillon Francis and Skan…
Together they create a unique musical tendency where indigenous, tribal and ancestral music from the Colombian Caribbean coast meets massive electronic European beats.
It is hard to affiliate them with other artists, so much innovative their project is,
but we could merely say that they are a fusion between Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto and DJ Snake.
Just like their duality, their show possesses two dimensions. One first phase of ritual, contemplative and mantric rhythm which triggers an inner or introspective voyage.
And a second overwhelming phase that explodes in beats to the rhythms of electronic merengues and fandangos all the way up to 160 BPM.
Their first album is set for Autumn 2023, in the meantime the duo already plays their album live during a one hour set.
