In April 2024, Anibar, in partnership with the Institut français du Kosovo, launched an ambitious initiative called project GENESIS. This project, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, aims to train up to 65 young Kosovars in animation techniques. Spanning over eight months, the program offers extensive training in both 2D and 3D animation, along with French language courses and workshops on key topics such as scriptwriting, sound design, and post-production, among others.
The ultimate goal of GENESIS is to equip some of these students with the skills and knowledge needed to start their own small businesses in the animation sector. By fostering entrepreneurship, the project seeks to enhance Kosovo’s business landscape and contribute to the growth of its creative and cultural industries.
As part of the program, a select group of students will have the opportunity to participate in two study trips to France, where they will interact with renowned professionals during prominent animation festivals. These students will benefit from the expertise of both French and Kosovar experts in the fields of cultural and creative industries, as well as economics. These experts will serve as mentors and judges, guiding the students on their entrepreneurial journeys and supporting them in the creation of their enterprises, some of which will receive partial funding from the GENESIS project.
Kosovo, already a country rich with internationally recognized talent, stands to benefit significantly from GENESIS. The project promises not only to stimulate the local economy through the establishment of new businesses but also to elevate Kosovo’s global profile by showcasing its creative and cultural prowess on the international stage.
