The Wanted 18 tells the true story of residents of the Palestinian town of Beit Sahour during the First Intifada. Seeking economic independence, the community purchases 18 dairy cows to produce its own milk instead of buying from Israeli suppliers. The venture becomes so successful that Israeli authorities declare the cows a threat to national security, forcing the townspeople to hide them. Combining interviews, archival footage, drawings, and stop-motion animation, the film recounts this unusual act of nonviolent resistance.
