Call for Research on the Impact of Anibar Festival2025

Is Anibar leaving a mark? Help us understand what the Festival leaves behind.

Anibar is opening a call for research companies or individual consultants to conduct a
socio-economic and environmental impact assessment of the 16th edition of the Anibar
International Animation Festival, taking place in Peja from July 14 to July 20, 2025.

The purpose of this evaluation is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the Festival’s impact
on the local economy, social and cultural dimensions, and environmental footprint—helping us
better understand the contributions and effects of the Festival on the community and
surrounding environment.

Application deadline: July 7, 2025, at 23:59

Purpose and Specific Objectives

Anibar invites research companies or individual consultants to conduct a socio-economic and
environmental impact study of this year’s Festival edition. This year, our aim is to:
● Accurately measure the economic contribution (direct and indirect) to local businesses,
tourism, employment, and GDP.
● Understand the social and cultural impact on different demographic groups.
● Evaluate the carbon footprint (emissions, waste, energy, transport) and our green
practices.

Methodology and Research Approach

A mixed-methods approach is required, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods to
provide a thorough and inclusive analysis of Anibar Festival’s impact.

1. Quantitative Component:
● Structured surveys will be conducted at the exit of Festival activities, using a random
time interval (e.g., every 5 minutes) to ensure a probabilistic and representative sample.
● The sample should include both Festival visitors and guests to better reflect economic
and cultural impact.

2. Qualitative Component:
● Semi-structured interviews and focus groups will be conducted with various categories:
visitors, staff, and volunteers.
● These will take place before and after the Festival to deepen understanding of social
impact and capture both individual and collective experiences.

3. Requirements for Representativeness and Detailed Analysis:
● Collected data must be demographically balanced (age, gender, residence) and
represent the experiences of targeted groups.
● A comparison is expected between demographic data and other variables such as:
○ Motivation to participate
○ Experience during the Festival
○ Environmental attitudes
○ Spending behavior

4. Visitor Categorization and Environmental Analysis:
● Visitors should be clearly categorized (local residents, domestic visitors, diaspora,
international visitors, and official guests) to enable realistic calculations of economic
impact.
● Environmental assessment must include the collection of primary and secondary data
on:
○ Energy consumption

○ Transportation
○ Water usage and waste generation
○ CO2 emissions associated with the Festival

5. Additional Data Sources:
● In addition to field data, the assessment must include a review of internal Festival
documentation (reports, statistics) and publicly available data to support the analysis.

6. Deliverables:
● The final report must be submitted in both Albanian and English, and must also include
an infographic prepared for communication on social media.

Expected Deliverables
A detailed analytical report (max. 45 pages), including:
● Executive summary, methodology, quantitative and qualitative findings, environmental
analysis
● Crosstabs and trend interpretation by age group, gender, region
● Calculations of direct, indirect economic, social, and environmental impact
● Concrete recommendations for future editions
● Presentation material (PowerPoint + infographics) for media and donors
● Preliminary draft to be delivered within 30 days after the Festival
● Final version within 45 days

Required Qualifications

● 5+ years of experience in socio-economic/environmental research (team or individual)
