"'Ethnically Plugged” started as a project in 2004 with the desire to revitalize beautiful Albanian melodies, blending them into various different genres. The project was initiated together with many wonderful musicians such as Luan Macula, Edon Ramadani, Xhemil Gjini, and Agron Peni. Immediately after the release of their first project, which caused a big resonance, they represented Kosovo at the Naples Biennale.
"Ethnically Plugged" was the name given to their project 21 years ago by several artists who came together to do what they knew best: music. From the beginning, it was clear that the source would be old Albanian melodies.
Their task was to give them a completely different color. Their music was based on the reinterpretation of traditional Albanian music with various instruments and with a tendency towards jazz/fusion.
Labinot Sadiku—Lab S—is a Pristina-born DJ, producer, guitarist, and promoter deeply entrenched in Kosovo’s electronic music scene. Influenced early on by his uncle’s eclectic taste in disco-funk (Marvin Gaye, Prince, Donna Summer), European electronica (Kraftwerk, Daft Punk), and '80s synth acts like Depeche Mode and Gary Numan, he developed a unique, genre-blending aesthetic
