The video uses bold colors and basic geometric shapes juxtaposed with minimalistic rotoscope animation. The visuals are inspired by Matisse’s paper cut-outs, as well as Kandinsky’s abstract paintings. The animation was traced frame-by-frame over videos of the musician’s performance, shots of New York City where the musician lives, and a few personal videos taken by the musician himself of his close friends and family.
