The first night of the festival will kick off with DJ Sugarfree, Shega, and the well-known Albanian DJ, Oda Haliti. With dynamic rhythms, this night promises to be a powerful start to the festive week.
SHEGA is an indie-pop band from Hora e Arbëreshëvet (Piana degli Albanesi) in Sicily, a town where the Arbëresh identity is still preserved today. The fruit from which they took their name is a symbol of unity; the numerous seeds of the pomegranate sticking together evoke the Arbëresh community, which after five centuries, not only preserves the language, culture, and traditions of its ancestors but also knows how to be contemporary.
In their music, there shines a longing for roots and visionary activities while living a culture with a youthful outlook. The band's pop/folk music is authentic and transcends any language barrier with emotion, drawing inspiration from everyday life and bringing to light a minority linguistic culture that is still not well-known in the world today.
